MMR 1333 San Pablo Street Off Campus Los Angeles

Dr. Li's main research interests are in epithelial ion transport physiology and the coupling of membrane transport processes to cellular metabolism via the metabolic sensor AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). His current research involves mechanisms and relevance of sodium transport regulation by AMPK, and the role of modulating AMPK and other signaling mediators in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease and acute kidney injury.

Dr. Li earned his medical degree from Shenyang Medical College. Prior to joining USC, Dr. Li served as a Research Assistant Professor in the Renal-Electrolyte Division at The University of Pittsburgh.
