Center for Genomic Psychiatry (CGP)

The MSRG is a mental health services research group committed to improving access to quality mental health care for underserved minority populations through patient-centered, culturally appropriate, community-based intervention research.

Isabel T. Lagomasino, MD MSHS, Director

Isabel Lagomasino is a bilingual, bicultural, Latina psychiatrist and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the USC Keck School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree at Harvard College, her medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine, and her psychiatry residency and a clinical psychopharmacology fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital. From 1997 to 2002, prior to joining the faculty at USC, Dr. Lagomasino trained in health services research in the NIMH/UCLA Faculty Scholars Program and completed her master’s degree in health services at the UCLA School of Public Health while working as an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. From 2002-2007, she headed the Spanish-speaking clinic at the Los Angeles General Medical Center Adult Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic. Dr. Lagomasino is a Fellow of the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She has 15 years of clinical experience working with Latinos who suffer from mental health disorders and extensive experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of primary care interventions for improving depression care and outcomes, particularly in public sector settings serving low-income minorities.

Jennifer Green, MSW, Administrative Director

Jennifer Green was previously a Clinical Project Manager and research administrator in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the USC Keck School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree at Duke University and received her Masters degree in Social Work from UCLA. She has more than 15 years of research experience, including 9 years in the implementation and management of depression interventions aimed at improving access to quality mental health care for underserved populations. Ms. Green is bilingual and has managed all MSRG grants since its inception in 2005.
