About the Department

Welcome to the Department of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. The department combines state-of-the-art technology with a nurturing environment to care for children’s specific needs, whatever their illness or injury.

The department includes some 300 faculty members and hundreds of residents and fellows who teach, learn and care for the children of Los Angeles — with a focus on the underserved — and advance the science of pediatric medicine.

The Department of Pediatrics creates hope and builds healthier futures for children in Southern California and far beyond our state’s borders. We care for children, adolescents, young adults, families and each other while advancing the frontiers of medical knowledge and preparing future pediatric leaders.

Clinical Activities

The Department of Pediatrics’ multidisciplinary clinical team of physicians, nurses and support staff offers health education, prevention and clinical services for children and adolescents — from basic wellness checks to care of acute injuries and chronic diseases in more than 30 pediatric specialties.
