Overview

Dr. Homans completed a combined Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program in 1992, and subsequently an Infectious Disease Fellowship in 1994, at the LAC+USC Medical Center. He is board-certified in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Infectious Disease. He has worked in the Pediatric Infectious Disease Division/MCA Program since 1997.

His current research and clinical interests include the management of congenital CMV, HIV in pregnant women, adolescents, and children as well as diagnosis and management of infectious diseases in all ages. His work involves collaboration between the departments of Pediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, and Internal Medicine. In addition to his clinical work, he is a Principal Investigator at LAC+USC’s Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Program and is involved in the teaching and training of medical students, residents, mid-level providers, and foreign physicians involved in HIV care. He is a resource to physicians throughout the Los Angeles area in Pediatric Infectious Disease and HIV.
