Overview

Laura Huettner, MPAP, PA-C is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and a practicing physician associate (PA) at Keck Family Medicine. She provides comprehensive primary care with a focus on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and coordinated care for medically complex patients. Ms. Huettner earned her Master of Physician Assistant Practice from the Keck School of Medicine of USC Primary Care Physician Assistant Program and holds board certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She delivers patient-centered care across the lifespan and is fluent in medical Spanish, allowing her to provide culturally responsive care to diverse patient populations. In addition to her clinical practice, Ms. Huettner serves as the Advanced Practice Provider Lead for the Department of Family Medicine, where she plays a key role in APP mentorship, onboarding, and workflow development. She is actively involved in advancing interdisciplinary models of care, including initiatives that integrate occupational therapy, behavioral health, and pharmacy into team-based primary care to improve outcomes for patients with complex medical needs. She has also contributed to the implementation of innovative clinical documentation technologies designed to enhance provider efficiency and patient engagement. Ms. Huettner is deeply committed to medical education and workforce development. She regularly precepts physician assistant, medical, and occupational therapy students and mentors early-career clinicians. Her academic work includes invited lectures, participation in federally funded interdisciplinary geriatrics initiatives, and peer-reviewed publications focused on improving care coordination and quality in outpatient settings.Her clinical excellence and leadership have been recognized with multiple institutional honors, including Advanced Practice Provider of the Year and the Gold Star Clinician Award for outstanding patient satisfaction and quality of care.
