Overview

Michael Young Lee, MD, MPH, is a board-certified family medicine physician at Keck Medicine of USC, who specializes in the care of patients with acute and chronic diseases, through all stages of their lives. He is dedicated to understanding the connection between his patient’s physical and mental health, as well as ensuring that his patients are informed about their health so that they can be proactive about managing their health care.

Dr. Lee is an avid student of leadership and has lectured on a variety of subjects, including building trust and empathic leadership. He has been published on such topics as influenza vaccination during pregnancy, for which he won lectern and research presentation awards, and pediatric research on prematurely born infants with apnea. He is deeply committed to working with underserved communities and volunteers at community health centers. In 2005, he worked with Operation Helping Hands, providing care for victims of Hurricane Rita. Dr. Lee also served as lead physician on medical missions to various parts of the world, from Vietnam to Jordan.

Dr. Lee has received multiple recognitions and awards for his commitment to providing exceptional patient care, including for excellence in diabetes, heart and stroke care.

Outside of work, Dr. Lee enjoys reading, working out, training in martial arts and spending time with his family. As a Southern California native, he loves the sunny climate and local beaches.
