Overview

Dr. Marcy received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Boston University in 1998, where she received extensive training in clinical intervention and assessment with children, adolescents, and adults. Upon finishing her degree, she moved back to Los Angeles to pursue a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, in the pediatric trauma rotation. After completing the trauma fellowship, she joined the faculty at CHLA, and a couple of years later, the faculty of USC Keck School of Medicine, where she has been since. Currently she provides individual and family therapy for children and adolescents with a multitude of presenting conditions, and does comprehensive psychodiagnostic assessments to help provide diagnostic clarification and determine appropriate social, therapeutic, and educational interventions. Dr. Marcy is also an active supervisor for pre- and post-doctoral psychology trainees, primarily in the area of assessment, and is part of the Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Team, providing instruction to medical residents and fellows in the areas of assessment, child development and doctor-patient communication skills. Research interests include: use of comfort positions for children requiring restraint during emergent procedures, functioning and support of siblings of children with chronic illness/conditions, and nonfinite grief in families with children with chronic conditions.
