Fellowships and Funding

The process of applying for postdoctoral fellowship funding can develop communications skills and also provide experience in grant writing, which is a key activity for most academic researchers. The Keck Office of Research Administration can help you identify funding sources and work with your mentor’s department to submit proposals for funding, obtain the appropriate USC approvals and manage the award once received.  Note that regardless of funding source, all postdocs must receive a minimum annual salary of $47,484 (policy statement)  and are entitled to benefits. The faculty sponsor is required to supplement any fellowship that does not meet the minimum salary and/or does not provide funding explicitly directed to benefits coverage.
