Research Highlights

Research in the Department of Cancer Biology spans fundamental and translational cancer biology, with a focus on understanding tumor initiation, progression, and metastasis. Leveraging advanced genomics technologies and AI-driven bioinformatics, we aim to uncover critical molecular pathways and biomarkers for cancer detection, monitoring and treatment. Faculty research programs explore key areas including cancer epigenetics, gene regulation, metabolism, cancer and aging, genomic instability, tumor microenvironment interactions. Our studies encompass a wide range of cancer types, including brain, colorectal, prostate, pancreatic, breast, ovarian, endometrial, leukemia, lung, pediatric cancers, liver, and renal cancers. By integrating cutting-edge technologies with mechanistic studies, our research drives discoveries that inform new strategies for cancer detection, risk assessment, and therapeutic development.
