Dr. Nguyen's major areas of research interest include thyroglobulin and thyroglobulin antibodies as tumor markers in differentiated thyroid cancer. Her current research entails diagnosis and treatment of severely decompensated hypothyroidism and evaluation of the physiological and biochemical changes associated with treatment of severely decompensated hypothyroidism.

Dr. Nguyen earned her medical degree from University of California, Davis. Following her residency at UCLA-Olive View Medical center, she went on to complete her Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship at Keck School of Medicine of USC.
