Overview

Dr. Shinbane, a native of Los Angeles, is a graduate of Stanford University in 1984 and the UCLA School of Medicine in 1988. His training includes an internal medicine internship and residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, internal medicine fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Cardiology Fellowship at the UCLA School of Medicine, and Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at the UC San Francisco School of Medicine. After a clinical instructorship at UC San Francisco, he was on staff at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He is the director of the USC Arrhythmia Center, a center dedicated to the comprehensive assessment, treatment and follow-up of patients with heart rhythm disorders.

Dr. Shinbane’s research activities focus on the use of advanced imaging techniques (Cardiovascular CT and Magnetic Resonance Imaging) for the understanding, diagnosis, procedural facilitation, and follow-up of patients with electrophysiologically-related cardiovascular substrates. He is additionally interested in the effect of device therapies on patients with congestive heart failure. Dr. Shinbane is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He is a Fellow of the, American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society, and Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. He is author or co-author of manuscripts related to cardiac electrophysiology and advanced cardiac imaging and has co-edited three textbooks on Cardiac Computed Tomography.
