Overview

Since graduating from Touro University with Masters in Public Health and Master in Physician Assistant Studies in 2009, Elaine has served as a Physician Assistant in several roles.

Early in her career, she worked as part of the outreach team in a Los Angeles FQHC in “skidrow”. There, she rotated among several locations such as mental health facilities and section 8 housing communities like Pueblo Del Sol. It was in the latter where she learned to practice and sharpen her medical Spanish.

After getting married, she ventured out and worked as a neurosurgical Physician Assistant and served as a first assist in spine surgeries. Post-having children, she went back to her original calling of being in Family Medicine and practiced in a Covina FQHC the last 8years. There, she cared for her patients by collaborating with the different departments within her care team – behavioral health, nutrition department, nursing department and even worked closely with the in-house pharmacist. She also served as a MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) provider and worked with a Substance Abuse team to help patients recover from alcohol and drug dependence.

Elaine believes that providing the best quality care includes listening to the patient and their family members to help understand their concerns and working synergistically with them towards achievable goals.

She aspires to grow and learn more while advocating for her patients’ health as she continues to serve in the department of Family Medicine.

Elaine believes in healthy eating, enjoying new food, exercising regularly and traveling with her family. She is dedicated, committed and hard-working and spends quality time with friends and family. Elaine believes that a well-rounded person is someone who is healthy physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Elaine is honored to be a part of your care.
