Katie Galvin

Dr. Katie Galvin is Upper GI/Foregut surgeon who completed surgery residency at UC Irvine and Fellowship at Keck Medical Center of USC in Advanced GI/Foregut, Minimally Invasive Surgery. Her clinical interests include treatment of GERD, hiatal hernias, esophageal motility disorders, gastroparesis, and malignant diseases of the esophagus and stomach. Research interests include advancing new techniques in the field of foregut surgery and improving clinical outcomes.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from University of Arizona and a Doctorate of Medicine from University of Arizona College of Medicine–Phoenix. Driven by her previous career in education, she takes pride in teaching skills that are not only fundamental in academic excellence but also to the general building blocks of critical thinking in medicine. She has served on Medical Board of Directors for Orange County Medical Association and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for exemplary and compassionate care.
