Parveen K. Garg, MD

Dr. Garg is a graduate of the Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University where he completed his undergraduate and medical school education. He also obtained a Masters Degree in Public Health during this time. He then moved to New York to complete his training in internal medicine at NYU medical center.

After completing residency, Dr. Garg returned to Northwestern Memorial Hospital to complete a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases. Upon completion of his general cardiology fellowship, he stayed for an additional year of training in advanced cardiovascular imaging and vascular medicine.

Dr Garg’s main clinical interest is in Preventive Cardiology. He specializes in treating in those at high cardiovascular, such as a strong family history of early heart disease or a high coronary artery calcium score. He is also board certified in Clinical Lipidology and treats conditions related to cholesterol management, including statin intolerance, difficult to manage triglyceride levels and high cholesterol due to a genetic disorder—Familial Hypercholesterolemia or elevated Lipoprotein (a).
