Yicheng Bao

Yicheng Bao, MD, is a vitreoretinal surgery fellow and clinical instructor at the USC Roski Eye Institute. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a BA in Biology and received an MD from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. His interest in clinical research began with training in both the NIDDK Medical Student Research Program and the TL1 Clinical Research Training Program, both at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. He completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at Los Angeles General Medical Center, the largest safety net hospital in Southern California, and USC Roski Eye Institute. Dr. Bao is deeply passionate about caring for the safety net population and improving access to ophthalmic care for vulnerable populations. In addition, Dr. Bao has published numerous research papers in prestigious medical journals, book chapters, and has given a wide range of presentations in national and international ophthalmology conferences. His professional interests include big data analysis, vitreoretinal surgery, and ocular syphilis. Outside of work, Dr. Bao enjoys traveling to far away places and spending time with family and friends.
