The Space Planning Department oversees several crucial aspects of Capital Project Planning, strategic space planning, and facilities management across the Health Science Campus and other affiliated sites obtained through leases or agreements. This includes coordinating capital projects, conducting research on facility planning, collaborating with internal and external consultants, and providing specialized guidance to staff.

Additionally, the department supports faculty by managing facility information and operations in partnership with the Facilities Department. This encompasses space management within buildings on the Health Science Campus, satellite buildings, and certain clinical spaces off-campus.

Since 2015, our department has utilized the Archibus/FM Computer-Aided Facility Management system to maintain a comprehensive space inventory database and AutoCAD floor plans. This system enables us to conduct space programming studies, assess space needs, and generate annual reports crucial for budget decisions within our educational institution.
