Educational Course

CTP offers a new course, “Cell and Gene Therapy Development – Translating Basic Research into Clinical Applications (DSR 599),” at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, starting in the spring semester 2023, providing both theoretical, as well as hands-on training in the cGMP laboratory.

This course is intended to give students the basic information necessary to understand the process of drug development and translating basic science research discoveries into clinical applications specifically in the field of cell and gene therapies. For course registration, please follow these instructions.

  2. Preclinical Development & Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  3. Product Development Life Cycle
  4. Quality Management Systems
  5. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  6. Regulatory Aspects of Cell-Based Therapeutics
  7. Industry perspectives on Cell Therapy and Clinical Trials

Includes: Solving a case study on CAR-T cell therapy & the cGMP lab.
