He is Director of the USC Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cell Therapy Programs.
Dr. Chaudhary’s research focuses on multiple areas of cancer biology and therapeutics, including the development of next-generation chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-modified T and NK cell therapies. He is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and a Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors.
He has received research fellowships and awards from numerous prestigious organizations, including the March of Dimes, Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation (formerly Damon Runyon–Walter Winchell Foundation), Leukemia Research Foundation, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Defense, and the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine. He has been recognized among the “Top Doctors” by Pasadena and Los Angeles magazines.
Under his leadership, the USC Blood and Marrow Transplant Program achieved the highest reported one-year survival rate (>90%) among adult allogeneic transplant programs nationwide. Dr. Chaudhary is an inventor on more than 200 granted and pending patent applications worldwide, including an anticancer patent application that was the most cited in its field globally between 1993 and 2013.
