Mary Yamashita, MD, interviewed about study on new breast screening technology

On Feb. 14, 2019, Spectrum News 1 and Spectrum Bay News 9 interviewed Mary Yamashita, MD, assistant professor of clinical radiology, on a radiation-free, 3-D ultrasound breast screening technology that is being tested at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. The multicenter study, led by Yamashita, is examining whether the technology is able to detect more breast cancer than mammograms alone in women with dense breast tissue.
