Genetic factors are a primary reason men of African ancestry are at higher risk, according to Christopher Haiman, an epidemiologist at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California who studies the racial disparities of prostate cancer. He said men would be best served if they can identify whether they are at higher risk through their genetic code rather than their age and race.
