New Calendar Lets Users Directly Submit Events

As part of the recent relaunch of the Keck School of Medicine website, the school has introduced a new events calendar. One notable enhancement is that community members can now directly submit events for publication.

Ben Sullivan, head of digital at the school, expressed enthusiasm about the new calendar, stating, “The new calendar is already better reflecting the dynamic nature of the Keck School. We aim to support event organizers in their outreach efforts by empowering community members to submit events directly, giving them more control to attract attendees.”

Event organizers are encouraged to provide details such as title, description, sponsor, and event links. They are also urged to include an image or flyer for their event. By incorporating artwork and relevant tags, organizers can enhance the visibility of their events to the appropriate audience.

After submission, events undergo review by the Communications and Marketing team before being published live.

“After a month of using the new system, we’re already seeing improvements,” noted Sullivan. “As our needs evolve, we look forward to adding new features based on community demand.”
