OSECA promotes community by supporting multiple SIGS, which are the hub of campus activities and community engagement.

  • AMWA The Keck chapter of the American Medical Women’s Association provides support and resources along with mentorship and leadership opportunities to women in medicine. Our goal is to empower women to lead in improving health for all within a model that reflects the unique perspectives of women.

  • APAMSA The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association addresses the unique health challenges of Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) communities and connects students from all backgrounds with APIA culture. Our mission is to promote the health of the APIA community and help healthcare workers understand how to care for APIA patients in a culturally sensitive manner. The group also volunteers in health fairs with the surrounding LA community to promote health literacy and organizes mentorship with undergraduates and high schools.

  • The First Generation Student Interest Group (FGSIG) at the Keck School of Medicine of USC supports first-generation students in the USA, university, and/or medicine. Under the Office of Student Engagement and Cultural Affairs, FGSIG aims to provide mentorship and leadership opportunities tailored to the unique challenges faced by first-generation students. Our group is dedicated to fostering a supportive community and engaging in meaningful community outreach initiatives.

  • MEDLAMBDA Medlambda seeks to create an educational environment that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, asexual members (LGBTQIA+) and allies of the USC Health Sciences Campus and advocate for equitable and culturally competent healthcare for the LGBTQIA+ community at large.

  • RPHOC The purpose of this organization is to address the healthcare disparities present in reproductive healthcare for people of color who identify as women and/or have female anatomy. Our target population includes cisgender women, transgender men, and nonbinary individuals. These disparities include, but are not limited to, sex-education, family planning, breast cancer awareness, abortion access, and perinatal care. Our mission is to address these inequalities through education, advocacy, and community involvement.

  • SNMA Student National Medical Association is committed to supporting current and future underrepresented minority medical students, addressing the needs of underserved communities and increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent and socially conscious physicians. In addition, SNMA is dedicated both to ensuring that medical education and services are culturally sensitive to the needs of diverse populations and to increasing the number of African-American, Latino, and other students of color entering and completing medical school.
