List of Residencies

The mission of this program is to provide residents in the General Surgery Program a veritable research experience that aligns with the goal of training future leaders in surgery.

Residents are expected to identify the problems, arrive at a diagnosis, perform the surgical procedure and follow the patient postoperatively. Unlike many programs in which the fellowship is primarily preceptorial, the resident has primary responsibility for running the colorectal services at the Los Angeles General Medical Center, with in-house supervision from the faculty.

The core curriculum and extensive case volume, combined with the diversity of the hospitals in which our residents train, help ensure that these goals are met. When residents complete the program, they are highly skilled in the operating room, academically comprehensive, and have earned the respect of their peers and faculty.

The six-year integrated cardiothoracic surgery residency program at the Keck School of Medicine of USC provides a well-balanced curriculum designed to train future innovators and leaders in cardiothoracic surgery.
