Exceeding $1,000,000 in grant funding annually in recent years. Funding agencies include: the National Institutes of Health; National Institute of Justice; the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality; National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases; National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute; National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health; Department of Defense; Naval Medical Research Center; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Gilead Sciences; Masimo Corporation; California HIV/AIDS Research Program; and the Los Angeles County Office of AIDS Programs and Policy, among others.
