Training & Education

Students with research interests aligned with the Center for Genetic Epidemiology are encouraged to seek out an appropriate faculty member for joining their research. There are opportunities for training and mentorship for undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral students in genetic epidemiology principles, methods, analysis and application. For postdoctoral scientists, there is a T32 postdoctoral training program focused on ethnic disparities in cancer.

The Center for Genetic Epidemiology also holds bi-weekly CGE seminars and Cancer Epidemiology seminars on alternating weeks (Wednesdays 10-11 a.m.), either virtually or hybrid at USC Norris Research Tower (NRT) 1508. Additionally, PIs/Research labs in the Center takes turn each month to host the Center Science Updates (Monthly on Tuesdays from 2-3pm). These discussions are open to all faculty, students, and postdocs who are interested.

These programs are open to all eligible individuals. The Center for Genetic Epidemiology operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the University’s Notice of Non-Discrimination.
