Propelling Women’s Health Through
Five Decades of Innovation

With a 50-year legacy of innovation, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has shaped the field through advances in contraception, fertility treatments, fetal heart monitoring, fetal surgery, and prenatal diagnostic testing.

Our Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine has trained more fellows than any other program in the country. Additionally, the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility is among the nation’s leading clinical research organizations in the field. Our gynecologic oncologists continue to innovate with advanced surgical techniques.

Our four-year residency is based at Los Angeles General Medical Center and trains 36 residents across four hospitals. Each year, residents see more than 10,000 deliveries, over 5,000 major gynecologic surgeries, and roughly 11,000 gynecologic oncology clinic visits. Fourteen fellows train across six ACGME-accredited subspecialty programs at 12 sites in the greater Los Angeles area.

From the Chair

We’re proud of 50 years serving our communities and breaking new ground in our field. We’re prouder still of the lives that will be touched by the experts we train and the medical progress we create.
