Scholarships for Undergraduate Students

  • This scholarship is intended to provide tuition assistance for a current Health Promotion and Disease Prevention undergraduate student who demonstrates academic excellence and financial need.

    Total Award: One scholarship up to $5,500 to be applied directly to the awarded student’s tuition bill.

    Application Requirements: Must be majoring in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention; enrolled for at least 1 previous semester at USC; USC GPA of 3.5 or higher; application including a statement on how this scholarship will impact your studies at USC; one letter of support; resume/CV; unofficial transcript.

    Application Deadline: April 30th

    Award Notification By: May 15th (funds to be applied to Fall semester)

  • This scholarship is intended to support the financial needs of students enrolled in the USC Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and Global Health Programs.

    Total Award: One scholarship up to $5,500 to be applied directly to the awarded student’s tuition bill

Scholarships for Graduate Students

  • This award is intended to provide tuition assistance to support public health and global medicine students whose educational or research interests are aligned with late PPHS Global Medicine faculty Dr. Maryam Farzanegan. Dr. Farzanegan was passionate about children’s health and human rights, which inspired her work and advocacy to provide equitable basic services for the world’s most marginalized people.

    Total Award: Award up to $5,000 to be applied directly to the awarded student’s tuition bill.

    Application Requirements: Must be a student in a graduate-level program at Keck School of Medicine of USC, Department of Population and Public Health Sciences; enrolled for at least 1 previous semester at USC; USC GPA of 3.5 or higher; application including a statement on how your interests are aligned and how the award will impact your studies at USC; one letter of support; resume/CV; unofficial transcript.

  • This award is intended to provide tuition assistance to support students who face obstacles to success in their studies and students who seek experiential opportunities to deepen their understanding of public health and health care who may otherwise not have the means to do so.

    Total Award: Award up to $500 to be applied directly to the awarded student’s financial assistance award.

    Application Requirements: Must be a student in a graduate-level program at Keck School of Medicine of USC, Department of Population and Public Health Sciences; enrolled for at least 1 previous semester at USC; in good academic standing; application required.

    Application Deadline: March 15
