Microsurgery Fellowship Program

Program description

The Reconstructive Microsurgery Fellowship is a one-year, broad-based fellowship for a candidate that has completed an accredited training program in plastic surgery. The fellow will be exposed to all aspects of microsurgery, with an emphasis on the use of free-tissue transfer for reconstruction of complex breast, trunk, upper extremity, lower extremity, lymphedema, and head and neck defects. The average operative experience exceeds 150 flaps per year.

Both basic and clinical research opportunities are available and can be tailored to the fellow’s interests. The fellow will participate in citywide educational conferences and benefit from a diverse teaching faculty.

A unique aspect of the Microsurgery Fellowship includes the opportunity for mentored, but semi-independent operative, experience at LAC+USC Medical Center (with appropriate support from senior faculty members). A competitive stipend and full benefits will be provided.
