About the Division

Welcome to Interventional Radiology at the University of Southern California.

It is a privilege to welcome you to the Division of Interventional Radiology within the Keck School of Medicine of USC and Keck Medicine of USC. Our Division is a nationally recognized leader in advanced, image-guided, minimally invasive care, guided by a mission of compassion, clinical excellence, education, research, and service to the diverse communities we serve. Our goal is to improve health, restore function, relieve suffering, and save lives through innovation, collaboration, and patient centered care.

Our Division brings together fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologists, physician scientists, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows, nurses, technologists, researchers, and administrative professionals. We care for patients with complex vascular, oncologic, hepatobiliary, renal, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, lymphatic, portomesenteric, and women’s and men’s health conditions. Patients and referring physicians from across Southern California, the United States, and around the world seek our expertise because we emphasize individualized care, clear communication, safety, and durable outcomes.

Our clinical practice spans the full breadth of modern Interventional Radiology, including arterial and venous revascularization, dialysis and venous access management, treatment of deep venous thrombosis and chronic venous obstruction, inferior vena cava filter placement and retrieval, image-guided tumor ablation and embolization, portal hypertension interventions including transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts and portomesenteric recanalization, management of biliary and renal obstruction, embolization therapies, and treatment of lymphatic disorders. Care plans are developed through multidisciplinary collaboration and close partnership with patients and families.

As an academic Division, education is central to our mission. We train future Interventional Radiologists and physician leaders through integrated and independent residency programs, fellowships, medical student education, procedural training, conferences, and structured mentorship. Our graduates lead and advance the field in academic and community practices nationwide.

Research and discovery are integral to our work. Our faculty lead and participate in clinical trials, device and procedural innovation, outcomes research, and health equity initiatives, collaborating across disciplines to shape the future of minimally invasive therapy.

Above all, our culture is defined by empathy, professionalism, inclusivity, teamwork, and accountability. We listen to our patients, support our trainees, and continuously learn from one another, believing that exceptional care requires both technical excellence and compassion.

Whether you are a patient, referring clinician, trainee, or research collaborator, we welcome you.

On behalf of the Division of Interventional Radiology at USC, it is an honor to serve you and to shape the future of image-guided medicine together.
