Dean Carolyn Meltzer, MD

Dr. Carolyn Meltzer is the Dean of the Keck School of Medicine of USC and the May S. and John H. Hooval Dean’s Chair in Medicine. Dean Meltzer is an expert in neuroradiology and nuclear medicine, and her research has focused on the brain’s structure and function during normal aging, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and neuropsychiatric disorders across the lifespan. She has received numerous recognitions for her work, including election as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the distinguished service award from the American Medical Association, and gold medal award from the American College of Radiology. She serves on the Council of Deans Administrative Board for the Association of American Medical Colleges and the Board of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
