Research

The anesthesia research rotation is a one-month program designed to provide residents with an
immersive experience in academic research. The rotation balances hands-on research, skill
development, and mentorship while offering a comprehensive foundation for future scholarly
endeavors.

During this rotation you will:

  • Obtain the training necessary to understand how to run a scientific project in
    anesthesiology.
  • Select, run, and complete a scientific project; submit and present an Abstract at a
    scientific meeting; and write and submit a manuscript for publication.
  • Work with a faculty mentor. Your mentor will provide you with scientific as well as
    career development guidance, to focus your research.
  • Receive financial support to present your research at a scientific meeting

Duration: Four weeks

  • Week 1: Orientation + Identifying Project
  • Week 2: Data Collection
  • Week 3: Data Analysis + Preparing abstract for presentation
  • Week 4: Manuscript writing and editing
