Program Curriculum

The full-time program consists of 61 semester hours spanning 5 semesters (20 months), beginning in May. It begins with 2 semesters of simulation, didactic, and clinical observations. The program progresses to hands-on clinical training by the end of the 2nd semester. The final 3 semesters represent the full-time clinical phase of the program. Students will manage clinical cases under the direct supervision of a certified perfusionist preceptor.

Rotation Facilities

USC’s Master of Science in Perfusion Sciences program does not require students to move or rotate outside of the Los Angeles area. All clinical rotations will be completed within the Los Angeles region unless students elect to complete an outside rotation.

Los Angeles General Medical Center

The second largest public healthcare system in the country, LAG performs hundreds of cardiac cases annually.
