Program Curriculum

This full-time, on-site program consists of 61 semester hours spanning 5 semesters (20 months), beginning in May and concluding the following December. It begins with 2 semesters of simulation training, didactic education, and clinical observations. The program progresses to hands-on clinical training by the end of the 2nd semester, with certified clinical faculty. The final 3 semesters represent the full-time clinical phase of the program, where students will manage clinical cases under the direct supervision of a certified perfusionist preceptor.

This curriculum intentionally integrates more than technical skill, encouraging students to develop a well-rounded understanding of perfusion sciences. Progressive competencies, both in simulation and clinical courses, ensures that each student can function in necessary capacities which increase throughout the program.
