Interactive, comprehensive training.

Students will be given a rotation schedule designed to provide them with the experience necessary to fulfill the objectives of the clerkship, and will work with each attending physician based on a schedule divided into half-day blocks. The student’s clerkship responsibilities will include attendance at chart rounds, tumor boards and conferences throughout the week. Students will work closely with the radiation oncology residents to prepare for and examine new patients, present new patients to the attending(s), and observe and participate in treatment planning including dosimetry, simulation, and set-up. Students will also be given the opportunity to observe brachytherapy and other procedures as scheduled in the clinic. Each student will be required to give a 30-minute PowerPoint presentation for the residents and attending physicians upon completion of his or her rotation.
