The Keck School of Medicine of USC is dedicated to nurturing the career growth of junior faculty scholars. Our programs are tailored to support individuals who have completed their doctoral degrees, equipping them for successful full-time careers in research and academia.

Under the mentorship of experienced senior scholars, junior faculty members expand their research capabilities and gain valuable insights. Our institution offers advanced study opportunities for trainees seeking to enhance their professional skills and research independence beyond a doctorate degree, preparing them for careers in academia or research. This training follows an apprenticeship model, with trainees working under the guidance of a qualified mentor.

Throughout the program, participants learn to independently develop hypotheses, design and conduct experiments, adhere to good laboratory practices, critically analyze results, comprehend the broader implications of their research findings, and uphold the highest ethical standards.
