Are you interested in becoming a part of Alzheimer’s and dementia research? If so, there are two main ways that you can enroll in USC clinical studies:

USC GeneScreen ensures that registry members are the first to learn about USC Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center clinical studies for which they are eligible to participate in. USC GeneScreen members undergo APOE genetic testing to pair  them with relevant studies based on their genetic profile. The enrollment process includes a simple online survey and consent, after which participants provide a cheek swab sample. This registry aims to make research efforts more efficient and effective in understanding, treating and eventually curing Alzheimer’s disease.

USC Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) clinical studies offer a broader scope of enrollment opportunities for studies related to Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Participants may engage in a wide range of research, from clinical trials testing new treatments to observational studies aimed at understanding disease progression. The ADRC’s studies assess different aspects of Alzheimer’s disease through prevention strategies and approaches to treatment. Those interested in joining a study can review and choose from studies that are currently recruiting.

Both USC GeneScreen and the USC ADRC underscore the importance of community participation in Alzheimer’s research. By becoming involved in research, participants not only contribute to the developing advancements in the field, but they also become a part of a community dedicated to finding solutions for Alzheimer’s.
