Academic Engagement Pathways

The MESH team helps establish long-term collaborations that are multifaceted and streamlined for success. These can involve multiple research projects or initiatives, technology development and commercialization, workforce development, and shared resources.

The MESH team provides high-touch services for faculty to establish industry collaborations along the research continuum (basic, translational, and clinical). We also connect and collaborate with internal offices (Contracts and Grants, Clinical Trials Office, Procurement, General Counsel, Keck Foundation Relations) to ensure seamless execution.

The MESH team serves as an effective liaison between faculty, industry, and the USC Clinical Trials Office (CTO) and Clinical Investigation Support Office (CISO) to build relationships, source new opportunities, and enable strategic partnerships.

The MESH team connects and collaborates with the USC Stevens Center for Innovation, the technology transfer office that manages the commercialization of the University’s intellectual property. USC Stevens is housed centrally inside the USC Research and Innovation office and is responsible for negotiating agreements related to intellectual property and maintaining a database for technologies, copyright, software, and research reagents/tools available for licensing.

The MESH team provides specialized entrepreneurial support to help aspiring entrepreneurs and startup founders find the right resources along their journey.

MESH actively participates in local and global innovation ecosystems; we are proud to have relationships with a variety of professional organizations, such as Alliance for SoCal Innovation, Autobahn Labs, Apple Tree Partners, BIO, Biocom, BioscienceLA, BCLA, CLS, Emerson Collective, Larta, LAVA, Nucleate, SoCalBio, UIDP, Wavemaker 360 Health, Westlake Village BioPartners.
