The one-year AUPO FCC compliant clinical Neuro-Ophthalmology Fellowship at the USC Roski Eye Institute offers a robust, comprehensive training experience in clinical and surgical adult and pediatric neuro-ophthalmology. Each fellow rotates through adult neuro-ophthalmology clinics and operating rooms at the USC Roski Eye Institute, evaluating and managing patients with complex neuro-ophthalmic disorders at Los Angeles General Medical Center alongside our residents, and gains experience in pediatric neuro-ophthalmology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). In addition, each fellow gains experience in Botox injections for hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm, complex adult strabismus, as well as oculoplastics procedures related to management of the neuro-ophthalmic patient.

The diverse expertise of our mentors, as well as the program’s clinical pathology and volume, affords each trainee ample opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge base, and experience required for independent practice as a surgical neuro-ophthalmologist. Each fellow participates actively in the teaching of residents and medical students. Academic opportunities abound, as well! The USC Provost, Dean, and Keck School of Medicine of USC have partnered to create a unique opportunity for USC clinical fellows to concomitantly pursue scholarly activities, such as basic, clinical or translational research, or attain a master’s degree, certificate or other relevant training useful in the development of their career. This Post-doctoral Scholars program offers tuition remission for the interested applicant. We support our fellow’s participation in this unique program if he/she is interested.
