About Training & Education

ZNI is one of several institutes at USC that trains students in the Neurosciences Graduate Program, Genetics and PIBBS programs, as well as a few others.

Graduate students, although busy with interdisciplinary coursework and lab research, are encouraged to socialize with others during weekly seminars that feature world-renowned scientists and participate in symposiums and other academic events. They are given extensive support and mentorship.

PhD students and postdoctoral trainees are the fuel for the ZNI’s research programs. The ZNI believes its best chance for success is to complement our growing portfolio of outstanding faculty with the best young minds from around the world.

Our postdoctoral trainees have ample direct interaction with their Principal Investigators. At ZNI, PIs take a strong interest in mentorship and shaping high-quality, high-impact projects which will prepare their postdoctoral trainees for the job market.
