[WELLBEING] Interactive Survey Program (ISP)

October 09, 2026

The Office of Medical Student Wellbeing would like to remind you of a resource for all medical students at KSOM, called the  Interactive Survey Program (ISP), a program for students to explore the experience of discussing their mental health struggles in an anonymous way. We understand that some of you may be reluctant to seek help for mental health concerns. While some feel comfortable asking for counseling support directly, others may not feel ready for this step or are unsure of how it all works. ISP is especially designed for those who may feel reticent or uncomfortable taking that first step but are interested in what help may be available.  This program allows students to connect directly and anonymously with a KSOM mental health professional: Dr. Juliani in the Medical Student Wellbeing Program at KSOM.

Life can be stressful at times. Whatever you’re struggling with inside or outside of medical school– family pressures, academic stress, relationship issues, grief, substance use or financial concerns – it is easy to get overwhelmed without an idea of where or how to turn for support. Students have shared that using ISP and having the opportunity to get feedback was very helpful in understanding the nature and extent of their mental health issues and beneficial in discussing the range of referrals and resources that are available. Some students have chosen to share their identities while others have remained completely anonymous (whichever you personally feel most comfortable doing is great).

If you have urgent/emergent matters, please call 988/911 or USC Student Health at 213-740-9355 any time of day/night/evenings/holidays and ask to speak with the crisis counselor for immediate support.

Key Principles of ISP
Complete Anonymity: Your User ID will be unique to you and can be anything you choose. Your identity will not be known to Dr. Juliani unless you choose to share it.

Personalized Contact with Program Counselor (Dr. Juliani): Instead of computerized feedback, you will receive a personal response to your questionnaire from Dr. Juliani.

Connection and Support: Dr. Juliani will respond to the experiences you share and provide you with the support you need – whether that be someone to listen or to help connect you to other services.

Interactive Engagement : You will have the opportunity to exchange messages with Dr. Juliani through the ISP website – ask questions, get feedback and support.
